The Cabardès
Cabardès blows the heat and the cold and unchains the passion of Cathares, the courtly love of the troubadours, the fever of gold and the culture of the wine.
On the soft slopes of the Black Mountain, with 10 kilometres and for the Medieval City of Carcassonne, of the forests, the lakes, the falls of water, old churches in strange villages, perched on the blank of a hillside, thewine yard and its soils express themselves like nowhere elsewhere.
The variety of the vegetation corresponds to that of the climates andaltitudes.
In Cabardès, moors and heaters of tops follow one another, chesnut groves, on green and fresh slopes, bush rusting of cicadas, air filled with flavours of thyme, of lavender and wine which, digging white syones of slopeslimestone, concentrate all the richness of the sun and the ground.
The country of Cabardès is characterized by the quality its soils, the authenticity of an area, the beauty and the diversity of its landscapes appreciated by the hikers and the travellers curious about history and tradition.

Association "Lire en Cabardès" organizes "residences" for writers with the priory of the village of Aragon.
It is at the origin of the creation of the "Prix Littéraire Cabardès" decreed in Paris which already rewarded :

Letters of Cabardès
This collection is animated by the writer Jean-Claude PIROTTE.
In the Black Mountain, the Cabardès soil became a literary place of creation.
Books inspired to the writers invited by Association "Lire en Cabardès", trade union A.O.C. Cabardès and the commune of Aragon, under the aegis of the National Center of the Book, of the Regional Center of the letters of Languedoc-Roussillon and General Council of the Aude, are accomodated in this collection which hopes to show montrer how much the province is universal.
